Business Title: Corporate Systems Engineer

Job Function: Systems Engineering for Lucent Product Springtide 5000/7000

For my last year with Lucent, I was part of the corporate systems engineering team for the

IP Services Switch (Springtide 7000). We functioned as pre-sales technical support for regional systems engineers and worked directly with software development to fix bugs found in the field or in our test cases.

Part of this process involved simulating large scale customer networks in a lab environment on which to create and automate test cases using perl, tcl, and c. The key to the success of our team was close communication with developers and the QA teams. With our processes, we were able to find and solve many problems before they were materialized by the customer.

We were the direct link to product development when bugs were discoverd. I joined this group as a field engineer visiting different sites nationwide but I quickly migrated to a lead role where I organized and led the deployment of many large scale SONET and DWDM optical transport networks. To ensure a successful integration,I would create a high quality detailed Network Integration Plan including integration procedures, network diagrams and all necessary information. Network testing results would be added to the plan to create a complete Customer Turnover Package.

Business Title: Two-Way Radio Field Technician

Job Function: Repair and Maintenance of Two-Way Radios

I was initially hired on as an installer for Motorola two-way radio. After about 6 months I moved up to a technician position where my primary responsibility was the fulfillment of maintenance contracts for all two-way radio equipment owned by our major customers.
